Publicly-Funded Child Care Centers
The Louisiana Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) provides financial support to low-income families, whose parents/caregivers are working, seeking employment, or attending school or job training, to help them afford high quality child care. CCAP provides child care subsidies so families can place their children with high-quality child care services. Not only will this increase families’ likelihood to be successful in school or work, but their children will be more prepared to enter kindergarten. These dashboards contain several elements of CCAP, including the median annual salary for child care workers across the state, the number of children served in the program by age, the total number of children under 5 served in the program, and poverty rates and estimates for children under 5.
